Entrepreneurial Idea:
HR&BP is an app that allows its users to track their heart rates and blood pressures. You will create an account where you provide height, weight, and dietary habits. Once you have provided sufficient information, you may hold your mobile device to your chest to receive a digital display of your heart rate and blood pressure. The app will then give you a schedule of your weekly workouts and what heart rate you should keep your heart at while working out. If you are not exercising proficiently, your mobile device will give you a warning.

Lecture Post:
Cloud Computing is very important to my app. Cloud computing should allow the app to run smoothly without any problems such as freezes or glitches. Cloud computing will also allow the sharing of files than can be accessed online. This instant accessibility to files will allow my app to be accessible anywhere. You will be able to download my app on your phone and access your files from multiple devices. You can use it on your laptop, ipad, iphone, etc.

Cloud computing also reduces that amount of paper that would have been used for file sharing. It is a “green product” which helps saves our world. It allows for a more efficient program.

It would be horrible if my program were to crash. To make sure this doesn’t happen, I will use Amazon EC2. Amazon EC2 allows me to only pay for the amount of CPU that I will use. I will not have to pay for space that I am not using.

Nike has created a “FuelBand”. This brand recognizes  the type of activity you are doing. For example, you could be running or playing basketball. This band calculates your movement into Nike “Fuel Points” that allow its user to set goals. As you reach closer to your goal, the color of the lights will change from red to green. Along with this bracelet, there is an app you can download to your Iphone.

The Nike Fuel Band could be combined with my product to form a new and better app and brand. The HR&BP app should also include a wrist band that will help determine your heart rate and blood pressure. Like the Nike Fuel Band, the HR&BP brand will also be able to detect your daily movements. This will allow the app and the bracelet to track your improvements.

There is an app that you can download to your phone that is called workout trainer. This app shows the user exercises and videos that show you how to perform each step correctly. This app also allows you to choose what area of the body you want to focus on.

This app can be combined with the HR&BP app to help the user choose parts of the body they want to focus on. They are both similar in the fact that both apps show the user how to perform certain exercises through videos. What the HR&BP app could take from the workout trainer app is that the user should be allowed to select what parts of the body they want to work on.

Not only will you be able to log in to this app on a phone, you will be able to use it on your laptop or desktop. The app will chart your progress over time. In order for this to be accomplished, it will require a lot of memory (RAM). The program will record your heart rate and blood pressure and all of your daily activities, workouts, food consumption etc. This will be recorded on a day to day basis. In order to succeed in our fight against obesity, this app should be used on a regular basis. It is like a daily check-in.

The Central Processing Unit also needs to be sufficient. In order for the app to give the user adequate advice, it needs to process the data the app records. There needs to be organization and navigation within the app so that the user is supplied with the correct information based on the user’s data.

The app will also be able to provide videos of exercises. Therefore, your computer will need to have a graphics card.

Our health and obesity problems can be directly related to social media. Programs such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram have transformed social interactions from a luxury to a convenience.

A few years ago in order to see somebody, you had to walk to go see them. Now you don’t even have to move from your bed. When you had to move to go see someone, you would have to participate in physical activities. These activities would release endorphins throughout the body, allowing you to feel well and burn calories. Today, people are relying on social media to do all the physical work for them. This in turn, causes the metabolism to almost reach a stagnant stage where no calories are being burned. This results in a growing number of obese people.

The hearts and Blood Pressure app (HR&BP) allows the user to take daily readings of their body health and chart their results against previous days. This app will give its users an idea of where they are, based on age, sex, etc., and where they should be. This will be a great tool in the success of fighting global obesity.

As you can see, this app can be a useful tool in the prevention of health issues. It could create better, healthier lives among our populations. HR&BP is not just an app, it is a solution.
